any one interested I may shortly be interested if enough show interest in selling side scan sonar systems as a kit or complete.
they will be based on a test bed I used to develop multibeam systems.
2ft long and based on an Altera FPGA they digitise high resolution returns using a single 100kHz, 220kHz or 500kHz transducer or a dual frequency system shoudl it be required.
Software runs on any computer with a USB2 or ethernet port. the unit has selectable slant ranges, ping frequency, sample rate and can measure heights and depths.
It will work at ranges from 15m to 600m depending upon the frequency and needs a 12V battery and laptop to work.
It is firmware upgradeable so will work with any transducers multibeam or single beam and outputs and reads standard XTF format so can load save and process other peoples files.
Im working on a completely digital version with a chirp FMCW drive and a multibeam system and wasnt going to sell anything but may think about it if it helps anyone.
Im in the UK but are happy to help any one learn or build a system.
