Proteus shipwreck off miami beach?

I don't know if it is. The ex-USS Proteus vanished somewhere between or south of the Bahamas and Florida. Last checked, the whereabouts of Proteus along with her sisters Cyclops and Nereus was unknown. Apparently one Canadian website suggests it was sunk in the Carribean. I certainly hope the wreck is found someday. However, there have been claims suggesting the sister ship of Proteus, USS Cyclops, was found in the Atlantic Ocean off the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, but the wreck was only claimed to have been found once and was never seen again. The exact position of the supposed Cyclops isn't clear, but even if it was, it would still remain unknown if that wreck really is the Cyclops.
