Were there American prisoners aboard and are there names? Do we have name of the Captain? Did it play any part earlier in the Revolution

Were the names of the supposed victims ever made known?

The names of the American prisoners on board HMS Ontario are not known. The captain of HMS Ontario was James Andrews. The Ontario was one of the British warships that provided the British total control of Lake Ontario during the American Revolutionary War period.
