What is the large metal object in the niagara river, canadian side, on top of the horseshoe falls? When I was a child in the 1960s I notice

The object is greyish rust in color and from a childs perspective is about 100 ft long and 30-40 feet wide and possibly 20 feet tall. Same is visable from the river road that runs parallel to the river on top of the falls. Also it is located within 3/4 of a mile from the falls.
