Deep Shipwrecks of Lake Ontario

Friday, August 14, 2009 - Event Starts at 5:00 PM

A trilogy presentation of three shipwrecks that have been discovered in Lake Ontario and are located in deep depths from 360 to nearly 700 feet of water.   One of these ships is the recently discovered, and a very rare, dagger-board schooner, the only such ship to have been found in the Great Lakes.


Plus an update on the HMS Ontario discovery with a short video clip of the shipwreck.

Shipwrecks of Lake Ontario - A Journey of Discovery Book

The National Museum of the Great Lakes is excited to announce the release of a new book titled Shipwrecks of Lake Ontario: A Journey of Discovery. This book contains stories of long lost shipwrecks and the journeys of the underwater explorers who found them, written by Jim Kennard with paintings by Roland Stevens and underwater imagery by Roger Pawlowski.
