Description

The Keystorm was a cargo steamer. She was built at new Castle in Great Britain in 1909 for the Keystorm Transportation Company of Montreal.  She measures 250 feet in length with a 42.5 foot beam.  On October 26, 1912 on night with much fog, she ran into the Scow Island Shoal.  the Keystorm slde off of the shoal and finally sank in deeper water.

She is laying on the shoal on her starboard side. the bow with the wheel house is in about 25 feet of water, the propeller is at about 115. Cargo holds are open and accessible, there is a lot of rigging strewn about that can be dangerous. There is a good current on the surface. Mooring buoys are available. She is on the south side of the shipping channel just upstream from Singer castle.
